Best Part of My Job:

I have a strong passion for animal welfare and the provision of exceptional veterinary care. I love the surprises associated with being an ER doctor and the opportunity to solve a variety of cases. I enjoy my interactions with humans as much as those with the pets I treat. Helping clients process complex medical issues to make a good decisions is incredibly rewarding.

Special Talent:

I’m a second-generation veterinarian and basically grew up in a veterinary hospital! My diverse background and comprehensive training have equipped me with a multifaceted perspective on veterinary medicine. I also had the opportunity to do some extensive training in dermatology at school, and even considered becoming a dermatologist. You might be surprised to know that we see a lot of severe dermatology cases in the ER! Being able bring that knowledge to the diverse ER environment is really rewarding.

Favorite Emergency Surgeries:

Splenectomy & C-section

One Thing People May Not Know About Me:

While studying in the West Indies, I considered a career in conservation medicine and wrote my master’s thesis on the social dimensions of invasive species management in regard to the invasive mongoose.

My Pet Family:

I recently said goodbye to my 17 ½ year old shepherd mix rescue from Mexico named Taco – but her spirit lives on. I have a boxer named Betty (who I delivered as a puppy!) and 2 French bulldogs, Tony and Millie.
