Welcome to the Rise Integrative Medicine Department
In the Integrative Medicine Department at Rise Pet Health Dr. Aldridge and her team combine conventional medicine with holistic approaches that are rooted in Chinese medicine. Our goal is to be able to complement the care that your primary doctor provides, as well as other specialist doctors here at Rise, to ensure overall wellness for your pet. Our gentle, custom, and noninvasive approaches are ideal for all types of patients including the elderly and more medically complicated. We utilize a whole-pet approach to make sure that we are promoting healing to the entire animal. This includes restoring balance in their physical and mental health. We care deeply about all aspects of your pet’s health and find no greater joy than seeing our patients leave feeling relieved of pain and restored.
Integrative Veterinary Medicine Services Offered
Acupuncture
Acupuncture includes the placement of very thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing. Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system which allows the body to rebalance itself and improve function. This often leads to a decrease in pain and inflammation which can improve mobility.
-
Aquapuncture
This modified acupuncture technique involves the injection of a liquid, such as Vitamin B-12, into acupuncture points. This can enhance the stimulation of the acupuncture point and can be ideal for patients that do not tolerate traditional acupuncture needles.
-
Electro-Acupuncture
Electro-acupuncture involves using an electrical current to stimulate different acupuncture points to further encourage the body to promote healing.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic care involves the manipulation and adjustment of the musculoskeletal system which allows us to help relieve pain and increase comfortability in your pet.
Laser Therapy
Our facility has a class lV medical laser, which is a deep-penetrating light that we utilize to promote a decrease in pain and inflammation. The laser stimulates injured cells to regenerate and allows your pet’s body to release natural endorphins.
Shockwave Therapy
This non-invasive therapy involves the use of high-energy acoustic waves to help stimulate natural healing processes. This treatment can be used to help relieve pain, promote ligament and tendon healing, break down calcifications, and reduce inflammation.
Tuning Fork Therapy
Tuning fork therapy includes the use of an acoustic resonator such as a two-pronged fork. This add-on treatment can help to improve tight or strained muscles, tendons, and fascia.
RegenaFlex K9 Injection
RegenaFlex K9 is an intra-muscular injection for dogs. This injection involves the use of stem cells from amniotic fluid and can be thought of as a natural equivalent to Librela. This injection supports overall health and helps with joint support, soft tissue injuries, and inflammation.
Herbs & Supplements
Dr. Aldridge recommends many supplements and Chinese herbs to her patients. These supplements and herbs are often botanical remedies that are more natural alternatives to medications. They can be used for a variety of purposes, often have less side effects, and are generally more gentle on your pet’s body and digestive system than medication.
